Nenette holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Westminster Choir College in Princeton,
New Jersey and a Master of Arts in Philosophy with a specialization in Aesthetic Education
from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut. Her post masters studies include Arts Integration
and Educational Leadership from Central Connecticut State University, Trinity College and
New England University.
Nenette served as Music Coordinator and full time music instructor
at Naugatuck Valley Community College in Waterbury, Connecticut from 2003-2004 where she
conducted “The Naugatuck Valley Voices Chamber Choir” and was an adjunct instructor
of philosophy and music from 1992-2006. As an undergraduate Nenette sang in The Westminster
Choir conducted by Joseph Flummerfelt from 1983-1986 which served as the Choir in Residence
for The Spoleto Festival of Two Worlds in Charleston, South Carolina and Spoleto, Italy and
toured throughout the United States and Europe.
She served as cantor and soprano soloist at St. Patrick Church
in Farmington, Connecticut, and has been teaching piano and voice
lessons in her home studio for twenty years. She joined The Hartford
Chorale in 2005, has served on its board of directors and studies
voice with one of its core professional CONCORA
members, Christine Laird.
In addition to being our Administrative Assistant and bookkeeper,
Shirley Cram is a long-time Chorale member and Chorale historian.
