Handel’s Messiah

Wednesday, December 10, 2014, 7:30 p.m.
Mortensen Hall at The Bushnell
Richard Coffey, conductor
with the Hartford Symphony Orchestra

The Hartford Chorale will present one performance of the most famous choral work ever written, Handel’s Messiah. Music Director Richard Coffey will conduct the Chorale’s 160 singers with the Hartford Symphony Orchestra and four talented soloists.

Handel wrote Messiah in only 24 days. Despite its rapid creation, the work has endured as one of the greatest and best-loved pieces for chorus and orchestra. This holiday performance will feature choruses and arias from the oratorio, including, of course, the rousing Hallelujah Chorus.

Tickets will be on sale in September through The Bushnell’s website. Be sure to use the code “CHORALE2014” to receive a 10% discount!

Great Music of France

We bring the energy from our recent Paris tour to this concert by featuring Maurice Durufle’s stunning Requiem and other great selections from Francis Poulenc and Louis Vierne. We will perform at Immanuel Congregational Church with its magnificent organ. With Larry Allen at the organ, this performance is not to be missed!
