Announcing New Assistant Music Director Sarah Chassé

Hartford Chorale is pleased to announce the appointment of Sarah Chassé as Assistant Music Director, beginning with the 2022-2023 season.

Sarah Chassé holds Bachelor’s of Music degrees in Vocal Performance and Music Education from the University of Connecticut, as well as a Master’s of Music Education with emphasis in Kodály from the HARTT School of Music. She teaches K-5 music in the West Hartford Public Schools. Sarah also is the conductor for the Inter-Elementary Choir. Prior to teaching in West Hartford, Sarah directed choral activities at East Windsor High School for five years, taking choirs to perform in various music festivals, including Walt Disney World.

Sarah is an active vocalist in the Hartford area. She serves as cantor/pianist at St. Teresa of Calcutta parish in Manchester, CT. She sings with VOCE, the Hartford-based choral ensemble, and serves as the principal Alto. She has sung with VOCE for nine seasons. Sarah also sang with Schola Cantorum at the Cathedral of St. Joseph for 10 years.

“Sarah is a strong musician and brings a wealth of experience to the Chorale,” says Interim Music Director, Jack Pott. “I am so excited to have her join this organization!”

Established in 1972, The Hartford Chorale is the region’s principal symphonic chorus and has performed with the Hartford Symphony and other orchestras to critical acclaim throughout this half century. The Hartford Chorale is composed of some 140 auditioned, avocational singers who rehearse on a regular basis throughout a standard concert season.
