Message from the Music Director

Dear Chorale,

What a great first rehearsal we had this past Monday! We laid the musical foundation for both Vivaldi and Bernstein, which will put us in position to be solidly prepared for the concert next month. I walked away from it feeling energized and I hope you felt the same! I would ask that you continue your preparations so that next week will be another “step forward” in our process. I would also like to encourage you to listen to multiple recordings of the Vivaldi. There are many to choose from on both YouTube and Spotify. You will hear different interpretations on tempo as well as pronunciation. While we will continue to adhere to the Latin pronunciation I introduced, the variance in tempos you will hear will set you up well to be able to see the music through whatever lens Maestro Bairos chooses. So, your listening assignment is to seek out at least 3 new recordings that you have not heard.

Jack
