Message from the Music Director

Dear Chorale,

Bravi tutti!!! Our king of instruments concert this past weekend was a musical triumph! Thank you all for your dedication and preparation to manifest that success. I hope you all feel good about it. Both the immediate feedback from those in attendance, as well as subsequent emails that I received in the days after confirm my own observations. Also, I have listened to snippets of the recording that was made, and it does capture the glory of your sound in that space.

With our concerts for the season now in the rearview mirror, our focus turns to auditions for new members, re-auditions for Alto 2 & Bass 2, our annual meeting/potluck (any coveted silver spoon award!), and golf! Regarding auditions, I’m sure many of you can think of at least one friend who would enjoy being a part of this ensemble, so please encourage them to sign up for an audition time. As for the potluck, I am so happy about the return of this social side of our annual meeting, and look forward to sampling all the different delicious foods that people bring! I’m also anxious for you to know about next season, so keep an eye out in the coming weeks for that information.

Jack Anthony Pott

Message from the President

Dear Hartford Chorale,

Raise your hand if the music is still swirling in your being! What an amazing concert that was. Thank you for all that you do for the chorale and choral music.

Karen Benoit was very appreciative of our tribute to Greg. See below her massage shared with permission.

“Hi Lalitha, The concert was awesome and amazing! I did see all the notes about Greg in the program. You did a wonderful job honoring his memory. I also appreciated your opening comments. I can’t thank you enough for everything that The Hartford Chorale has done.”

I looking forward to our annual meeting on June-19 and to golf (and non-golf-golf for many of us) on June-26. Many thanks to the social committee and to our formidable golf committee for making the end of the year fun and interactive. Until then, enjoy your hard earned break!

Lalitha.

Sunday May 28th at 4pm Latin Jazz artist Harold Lopez Nussa will be performing at South Church, New Britain Connecticut.

There will be dancing in the aisles and in the streets of New Britain when jazz pianist Harold Lopez Nussa and his band come to the city! The music of pianist Harold Lopez-Nussa reflects the full range and richness of his Cuban heritage, with its distinctive combination of classical, folkloric and popular elements. His embrace of jazz improvisation is fresh, exhilarating and the personification of ritmo. HIs latest album 2020’s Te Lo Dije, received a 4 star review from Downbeat magazine and peaked at #1 on the Latin North American College & Community (NACC) radio chart. We hope you will join us for after the concert to enjoy some Delicious Cuban fare. See you then!
