Message from the Music Director

Dear Chorale,

Thank you for an invigorating rehearsal this past Monday night! With two rehearsals under our belt we are in good shape for next week. My recommendation for all of you is to listen to the rehearsal aids online and try to sing along or play your part along with them. Also, try to have fun doing it. The hope for this coming Monday night is to meet and rehearse with the conductor, but that has not been confirmed yet. At the very least you’ll have me to go through it all again.

Even as we are in the midst of these rehearsals, we are also less than two weeks away from our first Messiah-Magnificat rehearsal on October 30! Attached to this email is the info document and Playlist. Edit Masters for Handel & Bach should be up on the member site. See you soon!

Jack

Message from the President

Dear Hartford Chorale,

As we excitedly prepare for our first concert of our season, I am thrilled to talk to you about our Christmas concert. Thanks primarily to a generous donation from an anonymous donor and a sponsorship from The Hartford Insurance Group, we are able to perform Messiah & Magnificat as a gift to our community. In other words, the concert is free! The marketing team headed by Fred Baker will be publicizing the concert far and wide. In the mean time, please tell all your loved ones about this opportunity. The Cathedral of St. Joseph is a stunning venue and there are plenty of seats for everyone. Emily will be providing details over the next few weeks.

This could not have been possible without our fearless development team headed by Joan Hultquist, and to Joe Coray for his tireless hours cultivating and bagging the Hartford (and other) sponsorships. We are very fortunate to have a board of governors and community that remains dedicated to protecting and nurturing our beloved art form. Thank you for all your good cheer and camaraderie. Looking into next week, I am very excited for our first concert of the season!

Until I see you on Monday, have a wonderful week and weekend.

Lalitha.

Dear Hartford Chorale,

Time is flying by — I cannot believe we have our first concert of the season next week! Very exciting!

If you did not pick up your score for the Bach Magnificat (Barenreiter Vocal Score) at this past Monday’s rehearsal, please email me so that we can arrange for you to get a copy. Again, the price for these scores will be $12.00.

Please click on the button below to purchase tickets and use the discount code generously provided by the HSO!

Our October 30th rehearsal will be our Halloween rehearsal! Please wear your best costumes! Special Ghoulish Snacks are being provided by the wonderful social committee and prizes for the best costumes as judged by Jack.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. See you on Monday!
