SNACKS this week:
All tenors and basses
From the Artistic Director
Dear Chorale,
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
I always love the costume rehearsal! The amazing food that is put out by Dawn Bauer and the best Social Committee anywhere! Also, the fun/creativity that is put on display with so many costumes. Congrats to our three costume winners: Jessica Bocola (Madame Curie), Emma Johnson (Pirate), and David Fertel (Robin Hood).
Thank you all for a great first rehearsal on the Bach – your preparation (as well as recollection from last year) paid off richly and puts us in a good position moving forward. I anticipate the same for our first run through Part 1 of Messiah next week. More than likely, we will revisit a few spots of the Bach. The end of our next rehearsal will involve Caroline introducing the “Suscepit Israel” with the sopranos & altos, while I do some Bach sectional work with tenors and basses downstairs.

Committee Sign-Up
Thank you to all who signed up to join a committee. There is still time, and need, for more folks. Many hands make light work, so if you have a particular talent, and the time to donate it to many tasks done “backstage” to make Chorale the amazing organization it is, please send me an email at admin@hartfordchorale.org and let me know which committee you would like to join.
Bach Practice Tracks
In case you missed it, there are incredible practice tracks made by Amy Eisen to assist with your preparation. Link here:
From Membership
Thanks for your help in supporting the implementation of Choir Genius (CG) to Hartford Chorale!
Check out this video from Lauren Lambert!
We are implementing specific functions in Choir Genius right now that are most important to managing our next Bach/Handel Concert: seating and attendance!
When we are fully operational in CG, we will be much more efficient, have a single source of truth for all HC data, and be much more connected to each other. Everyone associated with Hartford Chorale, singers, VSL’s, ASL’s and Staff are all in Choir Genius.
What I need you to do by next choir rehearsal November 4:
-
Go onto ChoirGenius https://hartfordchorale.
choirgenius.com/ -
Change your password if its your first time logging into the system
-
At the top of the page (on the left) go into your profile. You are already set up in Choir Genius but we need you to check your profile and fill in missing personal information such as contact information and add a picture if you wish
-
Add your height only in inches
-
As a singing member, you should see your membership commitment form attached since the membership committee attached all forms they received
-
Go into Settings and see what you can set up as your preferred communication settings but remember we will start using Choir Genius to send Hartford Chorale emails in addition to our normal email communication. At some point we will only use Choir Genius
-
Find the calendar of events. There are 8 events for Messiah/Bach. Go into each event and RSVP your attendance for all 8 events. ASL’s will still take actual attendance. Note: RSVP and attendance in CG doesn’t change rules we set for each concert about attendance.
CG will be used for attendance tracking and seating charts
Caution: If you don’t RSVP and update your RSVP’s throughout the season in Choir Genius, you may not have a seat at rehearsal etc. since we are running real-time live reports out of Choir Genius to set up seating and plan our choral sound. If you have questions, please email membership@hartfordchorale.org
One on one Choir Genius Info sessions will be offered on 11/2/2024 beginning at 5:30pm. Please sign up online on the membership page.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!
