Tenor Soloist Ting Li
Ting Li, tenor, from Zhejiang Province, China, obtained his B.A. in Voice and Opera at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. Presently, he is a Year-One Master of Music student in the Yale School of Music Opera Program, studying with Richard Cross. At the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, Mr. Li mastered various singing techniques and also accumulated abundant on-stage experience, including performing for the European Union Chamber of Commerce. He also established the “Young Opera Singers” group in the same year and performed all around China, earning high praises from the audience. To enhance his skills and enrich his experience, Mr. Li has actively participated in several master classes and competitions as well. In 2012, he was a mentee in the Shanghai International Vocal Music Master Class under the direction of Mrs. Xiaoyan Zhou, a maestro in China, and Mr. Marco Boemi, leading to a performance in West Side Story. In 2013, he won the “Jeunes Ambassadeurs Lyriques” Vocal Music Audition in China. One of the judges, Mr. Hans, manager of Holland Opera House, invited him to be a part of the France International Vocal Music Master Class, for which only seven candidates were chosen worldwide. Mr. Ting Li performed in many opera scenes, including Romèo et Julliet, L’elisir d’amore, Così fan tutte, Les contes de Hoffman, Die Fledemaus, and Aleko.
