Hartford Chorale Announces New Assistant Music Director

Hartford Chorale is pleased to announce the appointment of Caroline Kimrey Talbert as Assistant Music Director, beginning with the 2023-2024 season. 

Caroline Kimrey Talbert earned a Bachelor of Music in Sacred Music and Master of Music in Choral Conducting from Appalachian State University in the mountains of North Carolina. She served as Minister of Music at churches in North Carolina and Nashville, Tennessee, where she directed choirs for weekly worship as well as seasonal concerts featuring larger works. While in Nashville, Caroline served as the alto section leader with the Nashville Symphony Chorus, the vocal arm of the Nashville Symphony. During that time, she helped prepare several choral masterworks including Bernstein’s Kaddish, Stravinsky’s Symphony of Psalms, Handel’s Messiah, Vaughan Williams’ Serenade to Music, Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana, and the world premier recording of Gabriela Lena Frank’s Conquest Requiem. Since moving to Hartford, Caroline sings with the Sanctuary Choir at Asylum Hill Congregational Church and is on the roster for Voce, a Hartford based professional choir. She also holds a Master of Divinity from Vanderbilt Divinity School and currently works as a Chaplain at Yale New Haven Hospital, where she works primarily with patients undergoing heart surgery.
