Message from the Music Director

Dear Chorale,

VIVALDI

The finish line is near! I hope you all enjoyed your Monday night off this past week and also are still taking the time to review your music so nothing feels rusty. On Monday night we welcome Jacomo Bairos (guest conductor) to our rehearsal at St. James’s. I know you will enjoy working with him. As I have mentioned many times throughout these rehearsals, we need to be flexible with whatever he wants to do (tempo, interpretation, etc). The only way you can be flexible is if you are out of your music and looking up as much as possible. To that end, the plan is to give him what we have worked on and let him decide if it is what he wants.

It is a good thing that we all like each other, because the Production Week schedule has us together every day except Tuesday. Please make sure you are physically and mentally ready for what lies ahead!

LIFE AFTER VIVALDI…

No rest for the weary, because on April 15 we start rehearsals for our final concert of the season, featuring the amazing music of Gabriel Fauré. All Edit Masters and the Information document are now uploaded to the website. There is a beauty and gentleness that runs throughout his music, and we will need to figure out what that means for us as an ensemble.

Jack
