Message to Membership – December 7, 2023

Message from the Music Director

Dear Chorale,

I have to say that I truly believe our rehearsal this past Monday night may have been one of the best ones in recent memory. I am so proud of what you all have done in preparation to make this music come alive! That said, now is not the time to relax. Now is the time when we continue to refine and improve every aspect of our performance. To that end, I encourage each of you to take the time to look through your music before next Monday. Identify those places that still give you pause, and use any tool you have to try and work them out.

At our next rehearsal, we will welcome the professional ensemble, Schola Cantorum from the Cathedral of Saint Joseph. I am so happy that they will be joining us for this concert! They will be integrated into our ensemble in terms of seating.

Also, our 12/11 rehearsal is an “open rehearsal”, which we hope will attract folks who are interested in joining us in the future. Please spread the word about this, and try and think of someone you know who would love the kind of singing experience we provide.

I had mentioned that “stand and sit cues” would be coming in this week’s message to Membership. I was mistaken. It will be next week.

Jack

Dear Hartford Chorale,

We are just under two weeks away from our concert!

We are looking for volunteers, specifically ushers for this concert, so if you know anyone who is interested in helping please send them the link below or have them get in touch with me.

Music for the February concert will be distributed on Monday downstairs in the dining room of St. James. Please arrive a little early to pick up your scores. There will be no cost, but scores must be returned at the end of the February concert.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out!

Continue to spread the word about this concert! We are very excited!
