Message from the Music Director…
Dear Chorale,

With five rehearsals under our belt, I continue to be very pleased with the work we are doing in preparation for our first “Messiah“ in four years! I do want to reiterate an important concept/detail that I have mentioned often in our rehearsals: write down as much information as you can in your scores about what to do, especially as it relates to anything new. I have always found it a good practice not to simply rely on my memory in order to sing certain passages in a specific way, but rather, to utilize written clues/hieroglyphics to remind me in the moment about what is needed.

For our 11/28 rehearsal we will be running everything. This is to ensure that when Maestro Bjaland joins us on 12/5 we will be able to get through everything as well.

As we enter a Thanksgiving break (or as I like to think of it… our “bye week“), I just want to say how thankful I am for all of you, the work you are putting, and the privilege it is for me to stand in front of you. Have a restful week off!

Message from the President…

Dear Hartford Chorale,

My family and I wish you and yours a wonderful Thanksgiving! I am thankful that we are able to sing together again, a gift we can no longer take for granted. When I heard the Hallelujah chorus, I couldn’t help think of how lucky we are that we get to do what we do.
Many thanks to those who’ve signed up for busses. The Waterbury Symphony would greatly appreciate us being bussed, especially to Litchfield. The parking situation there is quite inadequate and we want to leave whatever little there is for our audience.

Thank you for all your good cheer and incredible spirit. Have a wonderful and safe week. I look forward to seeing you all on Monday, 11/28!

Lalitha.
