Message from the Music Director

Dear Chorale,

I came away from our rehearsal this past Monday very encouraged! Our first pass through the Magnificat went very well, and I hope you feel the same way. If this is a new piece for you, you will find that (like other unknown works we done), it will build in layers over the coming weeks to the point where it becomes performance ready. At our next rehearsal we will continue working on it and will also revisit some Messiah choruses. I encourage you to use online resources to solidify the Bach (see link below)

https://www.cyberbass.org/Major_Works/Bach_J_S/bach_js_magnigficat.htm

Also, do take advantage of the two performance opportunities this weekend to hear the Bach:

Sunday, November 12, 4pm – CONCORA at St. James’s Episcopal Church, West Hartford

Sunday, November 12, 4pm – GM Chorale at Middletown High School

Both are ticketed events, but you should be able to get them at the door.

Message from the Executive Director

Dear Hartford Chorale,

We have officially launched our Messiah & Magnificat concert to the public! I have attached our flyer and a Facebook cover photo to this email so that you can all spread the word. I will have flyers available for pickup on Monday and we would be grateful to everyone if they could go post these in their local community!

Our Education & Outreach Committee announced our Musical Toy Drive last rehearsal! This is a great way for Hartford Chorale to connect with the local community and give back during the holiday season. A reminder that toys should be musical for ages 16 months – 5 years old and we ask that there be no instruments that need to be played via mouth (i.e. flute, harmonica, recorder, etc.).

Another quick reminder that members must arrive and be ready to sing BY 7 PM, not walking through the door at 7 PM. That we can get as much singing time out of our rehearsals as possible! Thank you!

I was so sorry to miss this past rehearsal, but I will see you next week!

Emily
