From the Music Director …
Dear Hartford Chorale,
How wonderful it was to experience the vibe and verve on Sunday afternoon as the Hartford Chorale launched its 50th anniversary season with a picnic on the grounds at St. James’s Church. Even the rain drops did not dampen the spirits of the many who were there. Thanks go, as always, to Dawn Bauer and the Events Committee for making this possible and so successful.
Please send our way any and all singers whom you consider to be good candidates for Chorale membership. Information is available on our BRAND NEW and deliciously attractive website. Auditions are on Monday evenings, October 11, 18, and 25.
Then, to November: Three conclaves that will be engaging and helpful runups to our two self-produced concerts in the spring. November 1 will give Messiah a new “spin.” Bring your scores for following along (humming is allowed!). More to follow about the two subsequent conclaves.
From the Board President …
Dear Hartford Chorale,
It was so nice to see so many of you at the picnic. Although we’ve had a wonderful past year, there really is nothing like meeting in-person. Thank you to Dawn Bauer and her formidable team who planned and coordinated all of this remotely!
Auditions – All efforts are now on auditions! Please let everyone know about our fabulous season. It will be a wonderful year for those who love choral singing. Three conclaves, three vocal workshops, three productions, a commissioned piece, an outdoor sing and even a gala. You can find audition information to share here.
Commitment forms – Please send in your commitment forms and copy of proof-of-vaccine. Many thanks to those who have already emailed the office or have completed the Google form. The commitment form is attached, and the Google form can be found here. You may choose one or the other, depending on your level of comfort. Please send them in by October 15th.
Messiah outdoor sing – Finally, those who have not had a chance to sign up for our outdoor Messiah sing may do so here. Please be sure to register if you want to sing, as the Maestro will be working on placement very soon.
We have much good work ahead of us. Until I write to you again, have a wonderful week and weekend.
President, Board of Governors
