Message to Membership – February 2, 2023
Message from the Music Director
Dear Chorale,
Thank you for the productive rehearsal this past Monday. We intentionally spent significant time on the more challenging movements of “Credo”, as well as a second go (and deep dive) of the Perkins. Please continue your diligence with preparation on the pieces we did not cover, all of which will be addressed at our next rehearsal. Please note that we will plan to sing movement 4 of “Credo” at every meeting from now on. I encourage you to take advantage of the YouTube feature that allows you to listen to something at a slower speed to help get some of the more difficult passages under your belt.
I am so excited to share with you that for “Every Pilgrim Has A Mountain” in the first half we will be joined by singers from three different groups: Bloomfield High School Choir, UConn Voices of Freedom, The Choir School of Hartford-Trinity Episcopal Church. These singers will join our rehearsals during production week, and prior to that I will be going to work with them.
Take every opportunity you can to let people know about this concert, and encourage them to attend. As we gain mastery over this music I hope you see the beauty in it, and the messaging that needs to be heard by as many people as possible.
